Service Setup Wizard

How the service setup wizard works and how to start it manually.

The service setup wizard is a guided flow for adding maintenance schedules to gear that doesn't have one yet. It's available when maintenance tracking is enabled for your studio.

Starting the wizard

There are two entry points:

From the Dashboard — when your studio is eligible (see below), a "Set up service tracking" callout appears. Select Set it up (2 min) to start.

From Settings — a Service section in Settings always shows a Run setup wizard button, regardless of whether the Dashboard callout is visible.

Both entry points navigate to the Inventory list filtered to gear with no active maintenance schedule.

Eligibility for the Dashboard callout

The Dashboard callout appears automatically when all three conditions are true:

  • The studio is at least 7 days old.
  • The studio has at least 5 items in service-relevant categories (categories that built-in service templates cover, such as microphones and preamps).
  • The studio has no active maintenance schedules.

When any condition isn't met, the callout is not shown. Eligibility is re-evaluated live on each Dashboard load — adding your first schedule hides the callout immediately.

Snoozing the callout

If you're not ready to set up schedules, you can defer the callout:

ActionEffect
Show me laterHides the callout for 7 days.
Don't show againHides the callout for 30 days.

After the snooze period expires, the callout re-evaluates eligibility on the next Dashboard load. If your studio is still eligible, it reappears.

The Run setup wizard button in Settings is not affected by snooze — it remains available at all times.
